A few weeks back, we heard rumors that the WWE would bring John Cena back in action early this year, specifically, at the upcoming WrestleMania in April. Although this specific timing still isn't confirmed, Cena's return to WWE is.

The WWE confirmed that the sixteen-time World Champion will be in Boston on March 6 when Monday Night Raw comes to his hometown. This will serve as Cena's first WWE appearance since December 30, which set a record viewership high for the brand.

Obviously, Cena was ecstatic to perform in front of his fans as he expressed his feelings on social media almost immediately after the announcement. The 45-year-old currently is in the middle of shooting one of his upcoming films in Melbourne, as he pursues a career in Hollywood.
With that said, the delay to Peacemaker Season 2 might have given Cena more time to spare to give time to the WWE.

Cena's long-rumored opponent at WrestleMania 39 on April 1-2, Logan Paul, recently appeared at Royal Rumble 2023 and Elimination Chamber 2023, stealing the show in both instances.
But, if we believe the recent rumors, Cena might square up against Austin Theory, the reigning United States Champion. Ironically, while most WWE fans associate Cena with winning the top WWE titles, he made a name for himself as a long-time United States Champion throughout the early 2000s.
It would be interesting to see the WWE pit Cena and Theory together with the United States Championship belt on the line.
For now, fans can look forward to seeing Cena much earlier this year than in the past. Hopefully, Cena's filming schedule is light enough to give him a chance to wrestle more for the WWE for most of the year, and not just for the Show of Shows in April.
Cena's biggest defeats are featured prominently in WWE 2K23 as part of this year's Showcase Mode.
