Audiences are abuzz with anticipations as rumors circulate about the first PlayStation Showcase in nearly two years.

According to several sources, Sony is preparing to host a massive event soon, with a handful of first-party studios prepared to show audiences what they've been working on all this time.

While the official date hasn't been confirmed, a couple of trusted industry insiders claim to know when it might happen.

VGC's owner and editor, Andy Robinson, mentioned he "heard" the still-unconfirmed PlayStation Showcase is scheduled for the "usual late May / early June window." Jeff Grubb followed up by saying it will be on the "Week of 25" before this year's Summer Game Fest on June 8 and the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 through 13.

The PlayStation Showcase is a regular fixture within the gaming industry where Sony Interactive Entertainment highlights its upcoming games, hardware, and services for the PlayStation platform.

Unfortunately, Sony hasn't hosted the event since it announced Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Marvel's Wolverine, and God of War: Ragnarok, in September 2021. 

While the PlayStation Showcase is still shrouded in mystery, one thing is for sure: gamers await its arrival. As the date draws nearer, excitement will only continue to build for what promises to be an unforgettable event.

At the moment, PlayStation's next big game is Final Fantasy XVI, which isn't a first-party title but is exclusive to the PS5. The next one is Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which is rumored to launch in September.

The PlayStation brand is riding an all-time high at the moment. The PS5 sales are close to 40 million through March 31 after the PS5 posted the highest number of units shipped by any company in a Q1 ever, beating previous figures posted by any console from Xbox, Nintendo, and PlayStation, among others.
