Jurassic Park is celebrating its 30th anniversary on June 9 with a new update for Jurassic World Evolution 2 to celebrate the milestone. But, there are rumors that a new game based on the franchise is currently in development.
A gaming insider claims a new Jurassic Park game is in the works just as the franchise celebrates its 30th birthday. ResetEra user DemonCarnotaur shares that a new AAA game is in development and it is one that fans are hungry for.
"So recently I heard a AAA Jurassic Park game is in development, though I'm not sure who is the developer or publisher -- all I know is 'it's the game fans have been hungry for'," the user said on ResetEra. "So that got me thinking, what type of game would you like to see a narrative-driven Jurassic Park game be, and what developer would you like to see tackle it?"
The user adds, "Personally, I think something that can learn from games like semi-open hub worlds of the new Tomb Raider games + survival & puzzles over combat aspects of Alien Isolation would be a great fit. Mix platforming, puzzles, and finding tools that allow you to explore new areas and avoid dinosaurs without turning into Turok or something of the sorts. It's not an easy feat, but if coupled with top-notch storytelling I think there could really be something special."
The Jurassic Park franchise has had its fair share of video game titles. The most recent video game adaptation of the movie franchise is Jurassic World Evolution 2, a park management simulation game featuring dinosaurs. There was a canceled third-person game called Jurassic World Survivor a few years back which had a lot of potential.
The timing of the new rumor couldn’t be more perfect. This is a very busy week for the gaming community with several gaming events happening and will be headlined by the Summer Game Fest.
We are expecting some of the biggest announcements and trailers at the event. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Ghost of Tsushima 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are just some of the titles we hope to see at the event. We are also hoping for Capcom to unveil its new Monster Hunter title as it will be releasing the final title update for Sunbreak tomorrow.
While there is no definite evidence that a Jurassic Park game will be announced anytime soon, the prospect of having a new title in the series is very interesting. However, it is still just a rumor for now as nothing has been announced yet, so please take it with a grain of salt.
If you are interested in a Jurassic Park game, you might want to try out Jurassic World Evolution 2. The park management simulation game was recently updated to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original movie. The new update contains cosmetic items and dinosaur poop, a reference to the first movie.
