Aloy's story continues in a brand new Horizon Forbidden West DLC called the Burning Shores. The PlayStation 5-exclusive DLC was announced at The Game Awards with a new trailer featuring some iconic Los Angeles landmarks such as the Hollywood sign, the Capitol Records building, and even the Griffith Observatory.

In the trailer, we can see Aloy mounted on the back of a Sunwing as it flies past the Hollywood sign, teasing the fact that the expansion takes place in Los Angeles.

Burning Shores will feature a new region south of the Tenakth Clan Lands, featuring a range of new characters, missions, and of course, an immersive story picking up from where the base Horizon Forbidden West ended.

Horizon Forbidden West is an open-world adventure game that was released in February of this year, and now the DLC gives an excuse to nurse it back to the hype it originally had. The DLC will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 consoles.

"To achieve this grand vision technically and creatively, we've made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on making an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console," as per the official PlayStation blog post.

The Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5 consoles on April 19, 2023.
