Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is one of the most highly anticipated Xbox exclusives currently in development. Unfortunately, it hasn't been shown off much lately. At least, that was until this year's State of Unreal presentation.

Epic Games used footage from the upcoming Xbox Series S/X exclusive title at the Game Developers Conference to show the progress of the game's developers, Ninja Theory, and their use of Unreal Engine 5.
Much of the talk was focused on Ninja Theory, but the short footage wowed pretty much everybody with its graphics.
Performance capture artist for Ninja Theory, Melina Juergens, who's also Senua's actor, used an iPhone camera to showcase the power of Unreal Engine 5. She showcased the use of the MetaHuman technology in the footage to apply detailed facial animations that allowed the 3D model to express emotions without human intervention.
But, of course, human finesse, with the help of a more powerful rig, is the key to the life-like look of the protagonist of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has made headlines whenever it's shown. Unfortunately, without a release date, fans can't help but prepare for disappointment when it's inevitably pushed back.
With Microsoft already set for at least three big titles later this year in Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Starfield, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is unlikely to make it before the year ends.
But, then again, who knows? Phil Spencer did acknowledge that the company was light on exclusives last year. It might try to make up for this by packing the tail end of the year with exclusive titles. The last we heard, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II and Avowed are already close to completion.
Fingers crossed, we're manifesting something here and we can finally fawn over actual gameplay footage of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II if not the game itself later this year.
