Succession, HBO’s critically acclaimed black comedy-drama series, is coming to an end. Its fourth and final season, which is available on Max as of March 26, will air its final episode this Sunday and HBO has released a trailer ahead of its premiere.

Following the events of episode 9, which aired this Sunday, the season finale will finally conclude GoJo’s proposed acquisition of WayStar saga. The finale trailer teases war between the Roy siblings in the board room as they vie for control of their father’s company.
It opens with a throwback picture of the siblings when they were kids. Then, it shows Shiv on the phone with Tom as she seemingly tries to mend things with him. "I know that we’ve said the worse things but I just wanted to get a few things straight," we hear her say before the scene gives way to another one where Roman says, "Dad said that it would be me."
Yet another scene shows Kendall saying, "If we want to hold onto this company for us, we have to go into battle with our own version of the future… with a king."
In the previous episode, Roman and Kendall were united in their opposition to GoJo’s acquisition of WayStar while their sister Shiv was in support. However, the trailer hints that each of them will stand for their personal interest and battle the others for control of their father’s empire.
Succession stars Brian Cox as Logan Roy, the patriarch of the Roy family. Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook play his children Kendall, Roman, and Siobhan/Shiv respectively. The highly acclaimed television series also stars Nicholas Braun, Hiam Abbass, Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold, and Matthew Macfadyen, among others.
The family drama series was created by Jesse Armstrong and it premiered in 2018. The show has since become one of the best shows on HBO with every season, apart from its debut season, scoring an average of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Succession is the recipient of many awards, including 13 Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards.
With a runtime of 90 minutes, the series finale, With Open Eyes, will be the show’s longest episode ever. Unsurprisingly, creator Armstrong penned the script while Mark Mylod directs.

Succession seasons one through four are currently streaming on HBO Max.
