HBO's The Last of Us is about to come to an end, which should make for a bittersweet moment. On one hand, it means that a larger audience will finally get a chance to watch one of the most heartwrenching moments in gaming. Unfortunately, it also signals the start of the long wait for Season 2. But, as if to stimy the blow of the likely extensive intermission between Season 1 and the recently confirmed Season 2, HBO is releasing a bonus episode.
According to HBO, one more episode is coming after the climactic season one finale of The Last of Us.
The said extra The Last of Us episode, The Making of The Last of Us, is a behind-the-scenes special featuring showrunners, Neil Druckmann and Craig Maizin.

HBO's The Last of Us has set an exceptionally high bar for live-action video game adaptations. It's become so successful that it's threatening the numbers posted by House of the Dragon last year. But, it appears that it's not just the Targaryens who are feeling the infected breathing down its neck. Long-time God of War developer, Cory Balrog, feels the pressure of following up on such a successful show as he's set to help bring Kratos to life in Amazon Prime Video's God of War series.
The Last of Us will adapt the events of The Last of Us Part II, possibly across multiple seasons. In the meantime, fans can play through The Last of Us Part I on the PC and the PS5. The Last of Us Part II remains exclusive to the PS4/PS5.
The Last of Us Part III is currently rumored to be in development for the PlayStation 6.
