The second season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 drops next week and fans are asking for classic game modes to be added to the popular first-person shooter. Activision has confirmed that one fan-favorite multiplayer mode is coming back for Season 2.

As posted on the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Twitter account, Season 2 will see the return of the Gun Game. Activision has slowly revealed the new content coming to Season 2 in the past weeks. The studio also detailed some big changes coming to its popular Warzone battle royale and DMZ game modes.
Call of Duty content creator FabianChills recently tweeted that if COD adds the Gun Game, he will be making content for it. The official Call of Duty Twitter account replied, "Anyone got a [camera]? Asking for a friend. Party up Feb 15."

Activision’s response effectively confirms that Gun Game is returning as part of Season 2 which starts on February 15th.
Gun Game was first added as a multiplayer game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops. In this mode, each player starts with a pistol, and performing kills will upgrade their weapons. The match ends when a player cycles through the twenty weapons and gets a melee kill at the end.
Gun Game is a fast-paced game mode favoring aggressive play. Gamers who are very familiar with the maps in this mode will have a major advantage.
Gun Game is not the only returning multiplayer mode in Season 2. Activision announced that Infected will also be making a return next season. These returning game modes will add some much-needed variety to the multiplayer game mode playlist.
The first season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been criticized for its lack of content. However, Season 2 looks to be making some major changes to almost every mode.
Resurgence will also be making a return in Season 2 for Warzone 2. A new map called Ashika Island will play host to the Resurgence mode in Warzone 2. This map will be smaller than Al Mazrah and should have more close combat gunfights.
Ashika Island will also be a playable map for DMZ. The popular game mode will reset all faction mission progress but retain the insured slots earned in season one. This will be the third map for DMZ after the introduction of Building 21 in the middle of the first season.
