Gran Turismo 7 update adds Ayrton Senna's race car

Update 1.20 brings four new cars, a new map layout and Cafe extra menus to GT7.

One of the most dominant Formula One race cars is arriving with the new update. You wouldn’t be faulted for guessing it is a Ferrari or a Mercedes.

Ayrton Senna's McLaren MP4/4 will be coming to GT7.

However, Update 1.20 adds the iconic 1988 McLaren MP4/4 to Gran Turismo 7. The car was driven by Ayrton Senna and Allain Prost and won the 1988 Constructs Championship for McLaren and the Drivers Championship for Senna.

The update also brings three other new cars, new track layouts, and new Café Extra Menu races to the racing simulation game.

1988 Mclaren MP4/4

The 1988 McLaren MP4/4 is a Formula One racing car that competed during the turbo era. It is powered by a 1.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine made by Honda, producing 676 horsepower and 313 lb/ft of torque.

The combination of the powerful turbocharged engine and well-designed aerodynamics helped Ayrton Senna and Allain Prost win 15 of the 16 races during the season. The only race the team did not win was the Italian Grand Prix where Senna collided with another car and Prost was forced to retire due to mechanical failure.

The pair dominated the season winning the Constructors Championship for McLaren while Ayrton Senna won the Drivers Championship and Allain Prost placed second. Senna only had a five-point lead in the Drivers Championships at the end of the season.

Ayrton Senna tragically died in 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy. His car went off track and collided with a concrete retaining wall.

The Number 12 McLaren MP4/4 race car that has been added to the game was driven by Senna. A fitting tribute to a legendary driver.

New cars

Dior has partnered with GT7 to design the De Tomaso Mangusta.

Three other cars will be added to the game with the update.

The Porsche Cayman GT4 ’16 will be added to Brand Central and can be purchased by players for 350,000 credits. It can also be obtained by signing a Manufacturers Cup contract with Porsche.

The Pontiac GTO ‘The Judge’ ’69 is an upgraded version of the legendary Pontiac GTO muscle car bringing with it a bigger engine, better aerodynamics, and improved suspension. It will be available from the Legendary Car Dealer on August 26.

The De Tomaso Mangusta will be added to the Legendary Car Dealer on August 26. The GT7 version of the car is designed in collaboration between the game maker and renowned luxury brand Dior.

New tracks and more

The Circuit de Catalunya will have three new track layouts: No Chicane, National Layout, and Rallycross. With the new track layouts come new races for the Catalunya circuit: European Sunday Cup 500, Porsche Cup, World Touring Cars 600 and World Rally Challenge.

The Café will also feature two new Extra Menu items: ‘Collection: Abarth’ and ‘Collection: Gr.2 Racing Cars’. Both Extra Menu items will task players to collect certain cars to unlock rewards.

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.20 will bring some bug fixes and other gameplay-related tweaks to the racing simulation game. The update has been released and players must update their copies of the game to participate in online races. The full patch notes can be accessed thru the game’s menu.
