The reboot of the DC Universe has attracted many actors to the new superhero continuity, including The Mandalorian's Giancarlo Esposito. The actor recently revealed that he has met with DC Studio's James Gunn about the possibility of joining the cinematic universe.

X (formerly Twitter) user Mint Doom recently shared a clip of Esposito speaking during an appearance at the Comic Con Panama, where the actor revealed that he has spoken to Gunn about a role in the rebooted DCEU.

While he didn't confirm that he is joining the movie franchise, he did say that it may happen soon. "I had been talking to James Gunn about the possibility of being in a [DC] movie," Esposito shared. "So who knows, it could happen soon."

The user also revealed that Esposito answered several questions during the Q&A. The actor said that he is aware of the Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Mr. Freeze fan castings. However, the Breaking Bad star revealed that he would rather play a superhero than a villain.

Esposito also said that he is very confident that he will be hired by Marvel or DC soon. There are a lot of projects within the DC Universe that still do not have cast members at the moment and Esposito may possibly land a role in a movie or TV show.

The actor previously did voice acting roles with DC. Esposito has been cast as the voice actor for Ra's al Ghul in Son of Batman and Black Spider in Batman: Assault on Arkham. He was also the voice for Lex Luthor in eight episodes of the adult animated series Harley Quinn.

Last year, the actor also shared that he has been in talks with Marvel Studios about a possible role in the MCU. Esposito expressed interest in playing Charles Xavier aka Professor X. The actor went on to describe his take on the X-Men character, saying, "I'd play that character with force, grace, and a calm. Someone who controls the chaos, but someone who also has the ability to uplift and inspire."

So far, only the cast for Superman: Legacy has been announced. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will portray Clark Kent and Lois Lane in the movie alongside Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason.

Will Giancarlo Esposito land a role in the DC Universe? We will know the answer once the ongoing Writers and Actors strikes conclude. For now, we can only speculate as to who the actor can portray within the DCU.
