Ghost of Tsushima 2 and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be in the PlayStation Showcase

Giant Bomb journalist, Jeff Grubb, shared the disappointing bit of information in one of his recent podcasts.

Gamers are excited about Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Showcase. Many expect the company to make big announcements after months of relative silence. However, two games that fans have been waiting for may not be part of the upcoming event.

Jeff Grubb reveals that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will not be announced at the upcoming PlayStation Showcase.

Don't expect to see Ghost of Tsushima 2 and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf at the May 24 PlayStation Showcase. This information comes from reliable gaming insider and Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb, who shared the news during his Game Mess Decides podcast.

Curiously enough, earlier in the podcast, Grubb and co-host Mike Minotti discussed the possibility of Ghost of Tsushima 2 being announced that the showcase event. We've known for a while that Sucker Punch has been working on the sequel. It seems one of his sources gave him this juicy detail in the middle of the podcast.

Grubb may have received insider information during the live podcast that contradicted his earlier predictions.

"Moving back to PlayStation Showcase, I might have just sniffed out two things that won't be there, if that helps anybody. It doesn't sound like Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be there," Grubb said. "And the other one is, I heard this a few weeks ago, Dragon Age: Inquisition won't be there either."

Minotti later corrected Grubb that it is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf that is yet to be released. Dragon Age: Inquisition was the last installment of the series and was released in 2014. Grubb has mentioned that the next Dragon Age installment will be arriving in 2024.

Grubb is one of the many insiders that leaked the window for the PlayStation Showcase. He shared that the livestream event will be coming on the "week of May 25th." Sony confirmed this week that the event is indeed happening on May 24.

Fans may be disappointed that Ghost of Tsushima 2 and Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be making an appearance at the upcoming event. Ghost of Tsushima 2 has been one of the most requested games as the first game was hugely popular. Dreadwolf is also highly anticipated as it has been a long time since we last had an entry into the series.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will also not be making an appearance at the event according to the insider information.

However, not having these marquee titles in the PlayStation Showcase is not enough to put a damper on the event. There will still be a lot of PS5 and PSVR2 game announcements at the hour-long showcase. We expect Sony to show off gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16 which are launching later this year. There are also rumors that a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake may be revealed at the event

The PlayStation Showcase is airing on May 24, 2023, at 9 pm BST / 1 pm ET / 4 pm ET.
