Hoyoverse, the developers behind the highly praised open-world RPG Genshin Impact, have finally disclosed that it is replacing the voice actor for Dendro character Tighnari. This announcement came during Genshin Impact's official Version 3.6 Update Maintenance Preview.

While Hoyoverse has yet to officially reveal the new voice actor's name, data miners have discovered new voice lines for the Dendro character, suggesting that Zachary Gordon will be Tighnari's new voice actor.

Previously, Tighnari was voiced by Elliot Gindi, who faced significant backlash after being accused of sexual misconduct and self-harm threats by multiple fans. Gindi later admitted his wrongdoings and issued an apology for his behavior through a Twitlonger post (his Twitter account is no longer available).

After taking note of the situation, Hoyoverse released a statement in February condemning Elliot Gindi's actions and assuring fans that the voice actor would be entirely replaced due to Gindi's breach of contract. It also confirmed that the voice lines would be replaced gradually in subsequent updates.

At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari's existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!

Fans didn't have to wait long, as the new voice lines were already discovered in the preload files for the upcoming Version 3.6 update, set to launch on April 12, 2023. Although Hoyoverse mentioned in its blog post that Tighnari's VA would be updated in Version 3.6, it did not name Zachary Gordon. Genshin Mains shared the new voice lines in a Twitter post.

Zachary Gordon, the new voice actor for Tighnari, gained fame for his portrayal of Greg Heffley in the live-action Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie series. In addition to this role, Gordon has appeared in various films and media since his time on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid set.

Notable video game characters voiced by Zachary include Hayner in Kingdom Hearts III and Young Ravus in Kingslaive: Final Fantasy XV. He has also played critical roles in animated movies such as Young Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Martin Mattin in Star Wars Rebels, and Young Garth in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

It remains unclear whether all of the voice lines have been replaced or just a select few. More information will be available once Update 3.6, "Parade of Providence," goes live.
