Good news Genshin Impact players. miHoYo, the developers of the worldwide gacha game phenomenon, just revealed that Genshin Impact will be available on Epic Games Store soon. Just how soon, you ask? Well, as early as next week.
Starting June 9, you'll be able to find Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store. This update just comes in time for the game's latest update, version 1.6.
Play Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store Soon
According to miHoYo, Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store will launch with full co-op support on multiple platforms. This also means that, if you've already played Genshin Impact in the past, you won't need to worry. You can still jump in and continue your progress on the Epic Games Store, as well as other platforms.
miHoYo also made sure to reward those who will play Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store. Those who make the jump will receive a free bonus bundle using the "GenshinEpic" redemption code starting on June 9.
miHoYo president, Forrest Liu, explained that the company had always focused on making Genshin Impact available on a variety of platforms. Thus, the studio's move to making Genshin Impact available on Epic Games Store is just part of their goal. Ironically enough, an Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X release of Genshin Impact has yet to be mentioned.
At the moment, the only way to play Genshin Impact on the PC is to use the game's very own launcher. Making Genshin Impact available on Epic Games Store will make it more accessible. Weirdly enough, miHoYo did not partner with Steam. It is not unknown if miHoYo plans on making Genshin Impact available on Steam either.
For those that missed it, Genshin Impact will also see its 1.6 update, Midsummer Island Adventure, on June 9. This means that players will be getting a new seasonal event and a new "platform" to play Genshin Impact on the same day.
As part of update 1.6, Genshin Impact will let players ride the Wavesplitter, a boat, and shoot at monsters on floating platforms to collect insignias that they can use to redeem all sorts of rewards. Update 1.6 will also add a limited-time sea area with hidden treasure, seasonal skins, as well as a new boss battle known as the Maguu Kenki.
