Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment and will be published by Ubisoft. The game is based on the Avatar film series and it takes place in the Avatar universe as established by James Cameron.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to be released on December 7, 2023 for Amazon Luna, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

Plot and location

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora features a new standalone story and is set in the Western Frontier of the planet Pandora which consists of three locations: the Clouded Forest, Kinglor Forest, and Upper Plains. The game follows the Na'vi, the main character who is captured and trained by an RDA to become a soldier.

However, the Na'vi was put into a cryosleep. After 15 years, the Na'vi wakes up and starts on a journey as an outsider to discover their culture and heritage, and join their fellow Na'vi clan mates to fight against the RDA in order to protect the ecosystem of Pandora.

Gameplay

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person, action-adventure game, where the player will take the role of a Na'vi that can be customized with different appearances such as the body types, voices, and body paint, adding RPG elements to the character creation. The player can explore across the Western Frontier of Pandora to meet new characters, train as a Na'vi, and fight enemies including the human forces of the RDA.

The player can equip two types of weapons: human weapons and Na'vi weapons. Human weapons include assault rifle, shotgun, missiles, and launchers, while Na'vi weapons are more on stealth combat including arrows, bows, axes, spears, and dual blades. When the player defeats the RDA, the environment of Pandora will be restored and the player will receive crafting materials and other resources to craft new weapons and armors.

The player can have access to an ikran, a customizable banshee that can accompany the player character to navigate across the skies and making aerial combat maneuvers against the RDA.

Visuals and other features

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora includes the co-op multiplayer mode which allows up to 2 players. It supports the crossplay to all platforms for playing with others in co-op mode.

The game features the stunning graphic details and immersive audio. It also has a variety of accessibility options like the control remapping, the size adjustments of subtitles, and color-blind modes.

The Standard Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora comes with the base game and the pre-order bonus of Child of Two Worlds pack, including 1 character cosmetic set and 1 premium weapon skin.

Plus, the game is also available in three special editions: Gold, Ultimate, and Collector's Editions. The Gold Edition comes with the base game and includes the Steelbook Case for physical version only, Season Pass for 2 DLCs, a bonus mission, Resistance Banshee Mount (including 1 Unique Banshee Skin), and Resistance Equipment Pack (including 1 Character Gear Set and 1 Weapon).

The Ultimate Edition is available for a digital order.
