Want free Baldur’s Gate 3 stuff? Grab the D&D Beyond Baldur’s Gate 3 themed dice and character sheets and bring the video game experience to your tabletop RPG nights.
By now, a multitude of Dungeons & Dragons and Baldur’s Gate fans are deep into playing Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3. Some of these fans have had to take shortcuts to speed up the download and installation via their Steam account of the nearly 150 GB computer roleplaying game. Even then, that’s still several hours to a full day for some people.
So why not play actual D&D with your tabletop RPG group with fancy virtual dice and characters sheets with that distinct Baldur’s Gate flavor?
The freebie Baldur’s Gate themed virtual dice and character sheets were posted on the D&D Beyond website on launch day of BG3, August 3. The links were shared on the official D&D Beyond social media channels, including Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
Will you find lasting love on your adventures or just adversity? Only the dice can say!

To claim the free Baldur’s Gate 3 themed character sheets and polyhedral dice, just log in to your D&D Beyond account and go to this link. Claiming the freebies will unlock the dice and be part of your D&D Beyond dice collection (which will be marked as Baldur’s Gate 3 Set).
The dice set includes a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and d100. The 3D view of the virtual dice features a metallic look in blue and silver. Plus, users can spin these dice around on the D&D Beyond UI. The d20 is of particular note as the 20 side is represented by the Larian Studios logo. These are the same default dice skins players can see in the BG3 video game.
Meanwhile, the D&D character sheets are clearly inspired by the design from Baldur’s Gate 3 graphics. Each represents one of the six initially revealed companions players can recruit: Astarion, Gale, Lae ‘Zel, Shadowheart, Wyll, and Karlach. On the downside, returning classic companions from Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II, Jaheira and Minsc with Boo, are not included.
Unlike the statblocks of the characters from the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the BG 3 character sheets are more detailed. These sheets feature the race, class, attribute scores, saving throws, skills, equipment, and other important details to bring them into a Fifth Edition tabletop campaign. There are also brief backstories, personality traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws to give either Dungeon Masters or players roleplaying points on how to portray each Baldur’s Gate 3 companion.
Note that they are all Level 1 characters, which make them ideal for starting campaigns or as NPC back-up for people beginning to learn the D&D 5th Edition rules. For those exploring the tabletop version of Dungeons & Dragons and the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, there are suggestions from the Wizards of the Coast D&D design team on how to incorporate elements of the Baldur’s Gate 3 video game:
Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now for the Windows PC platform. The Sony Playstation 5 release is set for September 6, 2023. However, no exact date has been given for the macOS and Microsoft Xbox versions currently in development.
