Forza Motorsport will launch in October this year

A new rumor suggests that the racing title will launch late in 2023.

Xbox racing fans have been waiting on Forza Motorsport ever since it was unveiled. Microsoft announced that the game is rolling out the factory later this year and it looks like we may know when to expect it.

There have been previous rumors saying that the game will release later in the year.

The latest rumor suggests that Forza Motorsport is coming towards the end of the year.

In a recent Defining Duke podcast, reliable insider MrMattyPlays revealed that he has heard that the upcoming racing title is coming in October 2023. The insider made it clear that he will not be revealing any more details about the release.

Turn 10 announced earlier this year that it's "preparing Forza Motorsport for release later this year". Many assumed the studio was planning to launch the game around July. A launch in October will only be a slight delay for the massive racing game.

Interestingly, the new rumor comes on the heels of Redfall’s disastrous launch. The game was touted as one of the biggest AAA releases on Xbox this year. Unfortunately, Redfall was released with major performance issues and got poor reviews from critics citing game design flaws. Phil Spencer acknowledged the issues hounding Redfall and took full responsibility for the mishap.

Hopefully, Forza Motorsport does not release in the same state as Redfall.

October seems to be a good release window for Forza Motorsport as Xbox is also preparing for another major release in September. Starfield, Bethesda’s upcoming AAA is slated for launch on September 6. Hopefully, the upcoming space RPG game makes up for the underwhelming performance of Redfall.

Forza Motorsport is expected to be a reboot of the series given that it does not have a number attached to the title. The last entry to the series was 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7.

The upcoming racing game is being touted as a rival to Gran Turismo 7. The racing sim from Xbox is coming with more cars at launch than its PlayStation counterpart. Forza Motorsport will reportedly have over 500 cars at launch, 100 of which are new to the franchise.

We have only one track featured in the trailer in WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The game will undoubtedly feature more real-world race tracks similar to Gran Turismo.

Forza Motorsport will launch with over 500 cars.

Forza Motorsport will be pushing the graphical capabilities of the Xbox Series X. The game will run on 4K resolution at 60FPS and will feature real-time ray tracing as seen in trailers. The racing sim will run at a lower resolution on the Series S.

Forza Motorsport is coming to the PC and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
