Fortnite's claim to the crossover throne continues to grow by the moment. Ever since Epic made a "deal" with Marvel to bring over Thanos to the game back in 2018, right around the same time that Avengers: Infinity War was released, Fortnite has seen characters from other gaming universes crossover to its world.
It's no longer just Marvel characters that are popping in to join the battle royale fun these days. We've seen the likes of DC's Superman, Batman as well as Flash, Horizon's Aloy, and Aliens' Ellen Ripley, all become available as playable skins in Fortnite at some point.
While Epic has done a great job at expanding beyond the Marvel Universe in recent months, it looks like the studio is going back to one of its most popular crossover franchises in July.
Is the Fortnite Loki Skin Confirmed?
Epic hasn't gone out and confirmed that a Loki skin will be coming to Fortnite. However, we do know that the official Fortnite social media channels posted teaser images showing the signature horned helmet of the God of Mischief.
The caption even reads, "It seems Mecha Cuddle Master wasn't the only one who found their way to the island. Looks like a trickster snuck his way through the portal and into the Fortnite Crew this July."
It certainly makes sense for Epic to bring Loki into Fortnite in July. Disney Plus' Loki series will at least be halfway through its first season by then. It's already become popular among Marvel fans and it certainly has nowhere else to go but up. You can't blame Epic for taking advantage of this and releasing a Fortnite Loki sin while the popular Marvel anti-hero is in the spotlight.
Unfortunately, outside of the leaked image of Loki's horn, we don't know much else about the Fortnite Loki skin. Dataminers haven't come up with anything either. This suggests that Epic is playing things close to its chest until it is ready to release the Fortnite Loki skin.
Speaking of Marvel, Disney's superhero franchise is currently expanding its reach into the video game world. Outside of Fortnite, Marvel characters have begun appearing in video games more often.
Both Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are considered some of the best superhero games ever released. Meanwhile, Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers is set to welcome King T'Challa as a playable character soon. Lastly, a Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game is set to release later this year.
