In-game footage of an unannounced The Mandalorian game just leaked online

The leaked Mandalorian game footage, which appears to be filmed at a presentation, has gone viral.

Update: the footage has been confirmed as fake.

The Mandalorian is arguably the most popular TV series on Disney+ today. Even with the arrival of Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows, most people still tune in to Disney's streaming service just to watch the adventures of Mando and Baby Yoda. Because of its popularity and that of other Star Wars video games, fans have been wondering for a while if Disney is going to work on a game based on The Mandalorian.

If the leaks are true, then we've got another Star Wars game to look forward to.

Now it appears that Disney isn't just working on a game based on The Mandalorian, a playable demo is already out in the wild.

Is the leaked The Mandalorian gameplay footage legit?

Fans have asked Disney for a game based on The Mandalorian for years.

The leaked The Mandalorian game footage shows off some serious AAA title vibes befitting of a game based on one of the most popular Star Wars spin-offs. The game even puts Grogu on the menu screen, which seems appropriate. The individual playing the demo then shows audiences the four different chapters of the game: This is the Way, The Easy Job, The Coin Toss, and The Escape.

After choosing Chapter 4, audiences are taken to a loading screen that explains how Beskar Ingots work. Apparently, it is one of the many collectible items that players will find in the game.

The highlight of the leaked video is getting to see Mando in action. The game sees him fighting against Storm Troopers from a third-person perspective in a game with linear progression. The video then shows us that the demo is running on an Xbox console before it ends following a short cutscene.

Of course, because of the lack of any sort of official announcement, this video might not be real. It might exist at some playable demo capacity, as evidenced by the video above, but this doesn't mean anything.

If nothing else, it could be part of the pitch of an unnamed developer to Disney. It might not even be a leak at all as the uploader, Christopher Turner, has a channel full of Unreal Engine videos. He might have just created the mock-up himself and intentionally made it appear like a leak.

If this is true, then it would explain why Disney hasn't made an effort to take the video down yet.

In the meantime, Star Wars fans have plenty of other confirmed media content to sink their teeth into. Case in point, we've rounded up some of the best Star Wars games for you to play. There's also the next-gen version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, as well as the new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

In addition to the games that we have already mentioned, there are reports of a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel in the works and Star Wars Hunters, which is expected to release this 2021.
