The six-game bundle isn't confirmed for an Xbox release, continuing a recent trend with Final Fantasy games not coming out on Microsoft's gaming platform.

Square Enix has done an excellent job bringing some of its most iconic games to modern platforms.

After being released on the PC as well as iOS and Android platforms last year, the six-game compilation of classic Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters, is finally headed to the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.

Players can buy each game individually or the entire six-game bundle on digital stores. The Square Enix store is also selling a limited physical edition with a rather expensive Collector's Edition that comes with the following:

  • A physical copy of all six games for your preferred platform
  • FINAL FANTASY I-VI PIXEL REMASTER -FF35th Anniversary Edition- GOODS BOX
  • FINAL FANTASY I~VI PIXEL REMASTER VINYL
  • The Art of FINAL FANTASY I-VI PIXEL REMASTER art book
  • FINAL FANTASY PIXEL REMASTER Pixel Figure Set

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters will be available in physical versions for the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.

The news of Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters coming to the PS4 and the Switch is certainly one of the best ways to celebrate the franchise's 35th anniversary. Some are still hoping there's more coming. After all, a remake or remaster of the fan-favorite installment, Final Fantasy 9, was leaked by Nvidia GeForce Now last year.

Fans can look forward to the release of Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth next year.
