Ubisoft has just announced its latest attempt to bring in more players to the latest installment of the Far Cry franchise. This isn’t the first time the publisher has made the game free to play, with the latest free demo period kicking off on Thursday, February 16.

Far Cry 6 Is Having A Free Trial Weekend On Xbox, Playstation, And Pc
Is Far Cry 6 binge worthy?

Since its release back in 2021, Far Cry 6 has been quite a success for Ubisoft. Part of that can be attributed to the multiple free demo periods the publisher has been running, and for the next four days leading up to Monday, February 20, anyone with an Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC can give it a spin.

Unlike other titles, this trial period won’t include just the base game. You can spend this extended weekend period experiencing Far Cry 6 and its accompanying DLCs. Four days might be enough to grind through the entire storyline without purchasing it. But if you like what you see and just don’t have enough time for it, Ubisoft has your back. The game will be on a 50 to 70% discount until the free trial period ends, depending on which version you settle for.

The free weekend will give players access to all of Far Cry 6's base game, including the crossover missions inspired by pop culture: Rambo: All the Blood, and The Vanishing, a Stranger Things mystery. If you don't want your time in Yara to end after the weekend, Far Cry 6 will be on sale for up to 70% off for a limited time. Purchase the game after the free weekend ends, and all your progress will carry over.

Ubisoft is reportedly working on Far Cry 7 and a multiplayer spin-off, but those aren't mentioned in the list of major Ubisoft games slated for a 2023 release. The developer recently announced The Crew Motorfest and is reportedly discussing a sequel to its VR Assassin’s Creed game.
