Far Cry 6 is crossing over with Stranger Things, Danny Trejo, and Rambo

Ubisoft has just revealed an absurd amount of post-launch content for Far Cry 6, which includes crossovers with Netflix's Stranger Things.

Far Cry 6 is arguably the most hyped Far Cry game in some time. After the series' popularity started to peak with Far Cry 3 and plateaued with Far Cry 4, Ubisoft has struggled to take the franchise to the next level. However, with Far Cry 6, it appears that Ubisoft is taking no chances. In fact, if you take a close look at Ubisoft's post-launch content plans for Far Cry 6, Ubisoft has a lot in store for the upcoming game.

Yes, that is Danny Trejo holding a machete.

What are the free DLCs coming to Far Cry 6?

According to Ubisoft's latest video, it's going to launch at least three free DLCs for Far Cry 6. This includes two that certainly fit in with the game's story and setting. However, one stands out as a blatant advertisement for a popular TV series.

In case you haven't watched the video yet, we're talking about Netflix's Stranger Things, the fourth season of which is coming next year. The Stranger Things DLC for Far Cry 6 will take players to The Upside Down to save that little wiener dog that captured the internet's heart a few months ago.

No, that's not Sly's Rambo, but he's a superfan who somehow got to follow the 80s action films despite living on a remote island.

In addition to a trip to The Upside Down, another piece of DLC content will see Machete himself, Danny Trejo, make a cameo in Far Cry 6. Meanwhile, the last free DLC for Far Cry 6 will feature none other than Rambo. Well, it's not exactly him. Rather, the DLC will see players go through a series of missions alongside a Rambo superfan who's obsessed with becoming the 1980s action figure.

But, that's not all. Ubisoft is also giving Far Cry 6 players free "insurgencies" and "special ops", which are weekly cooperative multiplayer operations.

Of course, this is one of the biggest video game companies that we are talking about it here. So, aside from the free content, Far Cry 6 will have premium stuff as well. Just as we previously mentioned, the season pass will allow players to delve deep into the psyche of Far Cry villains such as Pagan Min, Vaas Montenegro, and Joseph Seed.

Hands up if you thought Far Cry would ever cross over with Netflix's Stranger Things.

With that said, it appears that Ubisoft wants to make the launch of Far Cry 6 go smoothly. After a lengthy delay, Far Cry 6 will finally launch on October 7 on all popular platforms. The game will star Giancarlo Esposito as Anton Castillo, who, as per the previous trailer, is just one awful human being. Players will take control of Dani Rojas, a guerrilla fighter intent on toppling the empire that this dictator has built for himself.

In the meantime, you can try replaying previous Far Cry games to pass the time. If you're on the PC, you might want to check if your set-up can run Far Cry 6 as well.
