F1 23 announces release date in new trailer

The teaser also confirmed that the Breaking Point story mode is returning.

Fans of the F1 racing video game series have been patiently waiting for the release of the latest installment. A new trailer for the game has been released revealing when gamers can expect F1 23 to arrive.

EA has announced in the latest trailer that the latest installment in the long-running racing franchise will arrive on June 16. game is arriving on June 16, 2023. The company also announced that a digital-only F1 23 Champions Edition will come with a number of bonuses including early access three days before the official launch date.

F1 23 will bring back the Breaking Point story mode, which debuted in F1 21 but was mysteriously removed in F1 2022.

The story mode casts Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler as teammates in the fictitious racing organization, the Konnersport Racing Team. But, while this racing team isn't real, their opponents are, as F1 23 will feature all the current season's teams, drivers, and circuits and include the new Las Vegas Grand Prix track.

"The return of Braking Point allows players to immerse themselves in a racing story, which provides a unique look at F1 alongside the authentic race features our players know and love,” said Lee Mather, senior creative director at Codemasters.

In a new blog post for the game’s release date trailer, EA promised that vehicle handling for both wheel and controller players has been improved. F1 23 will also be introducing several features based on community feedback.

Red Flags will be making a return in F1 23 after a nine-year absence. The game will also feature the 35% race distance that was previously only available on F1 esports. A new color encoding system has also been implemented that is similar to those used in film and TV.

"Our close relationship with the teams has allowed us to refine our handling model, adding greater realism to pad-play, and implementing a new colour encoding system used in film and TV creates a more true-to-life experience,” EA said.

F1 23 will add the F1 World, a hub that "helps introduce players to the complex world of Formula 1 by tying together multiple game modes such as Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Multiplayer.”

The Braking Point story mode returns to F1 23.

According to EA, F1 23 will feature "an ever-changing roster of seasonal content with daily and weekly challenges to get stuck into" and "enable players to "unlock new liveries, race suits, and helmets as part of a new progression system.”

Back-to-back and current world champion Max Verstappen will be the cover athlete of the Champions Edition. This is part of a recently announced partnership between EA and the racing driver.

F1 23 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on June 16.
