Dominik Mysterio, one of the breakout stars in the WWE over the past few years, gained a ton of notoriety and fame for his decision to team up with The Judgment Day. Dominik's partnership with the group and his subsequent feud with his father, Rey Mysterio, came as a surprise to many. And, while Dominik has already lost to his father at WrestleMania 39, it appears that his time with his new team, who he calls his family, isn't about to come to an end.
In a recent interview with G-Moniy, Dominik talked about why he joined The Judgment Day and what led to him to turn his back on his blood-related family.
According to Dominik, the rift between him and his father started when Edge replaced him as Rey's tag team partner at last year's Clash in the Castle. Then, a month before, Edge hit Dominik with a spear after losing to The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. Although Edge was merely trying to help and landed the spear on Dominik by mistake, the younger Mysterio is having none of it.
Dominik claims that Edge should know what he's doing because he's a "30-plus-year veteran," implying that he thinks Edge always meant to hit him with a spear.
In the same interview, Dominik revealed that it was The Judgment Day who really helped him out after he spent some time in jail for ruining Christmas for his father and his real-life family.
Finally, Dominik shared he wants to get a shot at a title belt soon. Specifically, Dominik is eyeing Gunther's Intercontinental Championship.
Only time will tell if and when Dominik's time with The Judgment Day will run its course. There have been talks that WWE will eventually see The Judgment Day have a falling out with Dominik. But, there's been an indication that this will happen soon. So far, Dominik is enjoying his time as the most hated wrestler on the WWE Raw roster.
Until Dominik starts costing Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Rhea Ripley matches, don't expect them to turn their back on their latest member.
