Diablo 4 Rogue Class Trailer Unveiled at BlizzCon 2021

It's been more than a year since Blizzard first announced Diablo 4 and we haven't really received any news regarding which playable classes will be available in the game.

One of the first-ever playable classes in Diablo, the Rogue returns badder and meaner than ever in Diablo 4.
One of the first-ever playable classes in Diablo, the Rogue returns badder and meaner than ever in Diablo 4.

That is, until BlizzCon 2021.

At its first-ever online showcase, Blizzard gave fans of the Shadow Hunter (Diablo 3) and Assassin (Diablo 2) classes exactly what they wanted with the reveal of the Rogue.

Blizzard themselves described the Rogue as an "adaptable, agile warrior who can specialize in ranged or close-quarters combat". They also added that, "she can best any foe with her imbued weapons, perform powerful combo attacks, and can augment her arsenal with deadly poisons and shadow magic to slay demons with impunity."

So, yeah, to sum it up, the new Diablo 4 class can wield melee weapons and bows with equal proficiency. She'll also have access to everything from traps to poisons and shadow magic to deal damage in multiple ways.

With that said, this isn't actually the first time that the Rogue class will be available in Diablo.

Back in Diablo 1, the Rogue was one of the three playable classes.

Canonically, the previous Rogue was corrupted by Andariel following the events of Diablo 1. She would eventually become Blood Raven, one of the first mini-bosses that players would encounter in Diablo 2 during the game's first act.

With the reveal, the Rogue now joins the Sorceress, Barbarian, and Druid, as the four confirmed playable classes in Diablo 4.

Other Important Diablo News at BlizzCon 2021

Before BlizzCon 2021, Blizzard made sure not to disappoint fans too much by announcing that neither Diablo 4 nor Overwatch 2 would release anytime soon. However, they did give Diablo fans plenty of reasons to get excited about at BlizzCon 2021.

In addition to revealing a new class for Diablo 4, Blizzard also officially announced the Diablo 2 remaster and provided more details regarding Diablo Immortal.
