Deadpool 3 writer is teasing MCU debut of Merc with a Mouth

Deadpool 3 is officially in development at Marvel Studios and the writer just let us in on how he'd be introduced to the MCU.

Just in case you've already forgotten about him, Ryan Reynolds is still set to make his MCU debut as Deadpool for his third solo outing.

The Adam Project actor's entrance to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is something that fans have been excited about ever since Reynolds confirmed it last year. Reynolds even hinted that Deadpool 3 will start filming this year following his return from his Hollywood break. But, without an official announcement from anyone - save maybe for Shawn Levy landing the directing gig for the threequel - all we've had so far are teases and speculation - until now.

According to Deadpool 3 writer, Rhett Reese, Reynolds's MCU debut is "going to be really fun."

Deadpool 3 will likely be the first R-rated MCU film when it comes out, which is more than reason enough to get hyped. But, what most are likely looking forward to is, just as Reese puts it, how Deadpool will react to being in a different universe.

Deadpool might have tangled with a time traveler in Cable and broken the fourth wall more times than anyone can bother to count and neither will still prepare him for what's to come.

If it's any consolation, Reynolds will not have run into censorship issues as he transfers from the Fox universe to the MCU. Earlier this year, Disney Plus altered its parental controls just as the Defenders Saga came onboard its platform. After the success of Moon Knight, we do not think that the House of Mouse will have any reservations about letting Deadpool loose on Earth-616, or so to speak.

Deadpool 3 could join 2019's Joker as the only R-rated films to pull in a billion at the global box office.

In the meantime, Marvel fans can look forward to the last few episodes of Ms. Marvel every Friday while waiting for Thor: Love and Thunder to premiere on July 8. After this, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be the next MCU series on the docket along with I Am Groot. We will likely know more about other upcoming MCU shows once the latter two series make their way to Disney+ sometime in August.
