Overview

What is Dead by Daylight?

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer cooperative and survival game. In it, players take on the role of either the Killer or one of the four Survivors.

Developed by Behaviour Interactive, the goal of each side in Dead by Daylight is fairly straightforward. The Killer goes about trying to slay every member of the Survivors. Meanwhile, the Survivors must work together to escape the Killing Ground and, hopefully, avoid getting dispatched by the Killer.

Play as the Killer hunting your prey or one of the Survivors and work together to avoid being Dead by Daylight.

A unique feature in Dead by Daylight is how the two sides have different perspectives in the game. The Killer has a first-person perspective, which emulates how horror films (particularly the slasher sub-genre) shows the killer’s point of view when they are about to make their move.

On the other hand, the Survivors have a third-person perspective. This allows them more situational awareness and peripheral vision. Again, this is a nod to how horror movies depict such characters, which are depicted on the screen as the audience watches them either succeed or fail horribly in lasting the night.

Dead by Daylight also offers a unique gameplay every single time. This is because the Killing Ground uses a randomized procedural generation for each instance. Also, Dead by Daylight has licensed famous characters of the horror genre, with content from franchises such as Halloween, Left 4 Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, Stranger Things, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Hellraiser, Attack on Titan, and many more.

Built on the Unreal Engine 4, Dead by Daylight is available for Microsoft Windows, Sony Playstation 4 and Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia, Android, iOS, and the Nintendo Switch.

What are Dead by Daylight codes?

Occasionally, Behaviour Interactive devs will release to the public special codes for Dead by Daylight. Redeeming these codes will often give Blood points which are needed to upgrade characters.
