Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is coming in June

Apparently, CD Projekt RED is planning to reveal more info about The Phantom Liberty before releasing it shortly after.

CD Projekt Red has been holding off on announcing the release date for the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. However, it looks like we will be getting the DLC next month if the newly leaked information is correct.

Idris Elba will be the protagonist of the upcoming DLC.

The studio released the most recent trailer for Phantom Liberty expansion last December. The teaser video showcased Idris Elba as the protagonist of the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. The trailer, however, did not reveal when the expansion would be released.

The Polish podcast 'Rock and Boris' has shared information about when the upcoming DLC will arrive, saying the expansion will be released next month.

During the podcast, the hosts claimed Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty would launch on June 8th. The podcast has been the source of CD Project Red game leaks on multiple occasions.

The upcoming DLC will reportedly launch on June 8th.

To support its claim, the host shared that Boris was invited by several individuals from CD Project Red to attend this year's Summer Games Fest. The studio will apparently showcase the expansion and provide guests with an opportunity to play Phantom Liberty at the event. According to Boris’ sources within the studio, an internal release date for the expansion has been slated for June.

Boris revealed that his previous interactions with CD Projekt Red developers at events like Digital Dragon and Poznan Game Arena made it clear that development for Phantom Liberty was progressing quite well.

Several members of the development team and other independent Polish game developers have confirmed to the host that the expansion will be launched after the studio announces its release date.

This is not the first time that information about the upcoming expansion has been leaked online. A video showing details for a quest that will be included in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty surfaced two months ago. Based on the footage, one of the main DLC missions is called Casino Warfare and will involve Alt Cunningham, Falco, and Night Corp.

A previous leak revealed that a Casino quest will be part of the DLC.

The quest details may be placeholder data, but the quest title is intriguing. There is a casino found outside the map border of Cyberpunk 2077 which players are not allowed to visit as it is out of bounds. In-game billboards and the promotional book about Night City have mentioned a casino. These pieces of information suggest that players may get a chance to visit the casino in the upcoming expansion.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be a paid DLC and will only be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. According to CD Projekt Red, it will only release on the current-gen consoles and PC to provide the best possible experience for players.
