The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt might finally change hands, and may even be split in two, in April at the so-called Shows of Shows, WrestleMania 39.
WWE confirmed that the winner of this year's Men's Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes, will be squaring off against the reigning champ, Roman Reigns.
The post-Rumble "WWE Raw" episode opened with a video recap of the WWE's most recent event before Rhodes came out to the welcoming arms of the fans who couldn't be any more excited for what's to come. In his latest promo, The American Nightmare recounted all the trials and tribulations he encountered throughout his 18-year career, from his days over at Ohio Valley Wrestling and thinking he'd be a WWE Champion shortly after joining the WWE to what he's now referring to as the "rest of my life."

Rhodes then blasted Reigns and gave audiences another reason to cheer him on as he promised that he'll stop at nothing until he dethrones The Tribal Chief in April in Los Angeles, California, saying, "Undeniable remains uncrowned, but on that night, it ends."
With that said, it's all but confirmed now that the WWE will not split the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship over the next 60 days. Don't expect to see a temporary title change either - where Reigns loses one of the belts and wins it back just a few days or weeks later.
Now that the headliner for WrestleMania 39 is confirmed, the WWE has a lot of work to do.
Triple H is likely going to take this time to build up other storylines for his first WrestleMania as the Creative Head. It's still unknown if the Reigns vs Rhodes match will take place on the first day or the second day of WrestleMania 39. Fingers crossed, Rhodes' upcoming title match will pave the way for a Stone Cold return in Los Angeles.
The next big WWE event, Elimination Chamber, will be on February 18 and will feature a title defense for the United States Championship belt, which is currently held by Austin Theory.
