Capcom unveils Dragon’s Dogma 2 trailer during PlayStation Showcase

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still in development without an official release date following its initial reveal last year.

Capcom finally unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Dragon's Dogma 2 at the May 24 PlayStation Showcase.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was officially announced last year during a 10-year anniversary livestream.

The highly anticipated action role-playing title was initially announced last year by the game’s director Hideaki Itsuno at the live stream event to commemorate the first game's 10th anniversary.

While Itsuno didn’t reveal much detail during the stream, he did state that the game will be developed on its proprietary RE Engine.

The trailer opens with a bird’s eye view of the world in which the game takes place. It then goes on to tease the different characters and its monsters, including a Medusa-like figure and the infamous dragon.

As expected, Dragon's Dogma 2 promises an immersive combat experience as well as a robust magic system.

The trailer is accompanied by a description, which reads, "Dragon’s Dogma is a single player, narrative driven action-RPG that challenges players to choose their own experience – from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations and more. On your journey, you’ll be joined by Pawns, mysterious otherworldly beings, in an adventure so unique you will feel as if accompanied by other players while on your own adventure."

Capcom also revealed that, to provide a "truly immersive fantasy world," it uses the "latest in graphics, artificial intelligence (AI) and physics technology."

The new trailer looks exciting and has some cool combat scenes and magic systems.

Dragon’s Dogma is an action role-playing game that first debuted in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 featuring the Arisen, who's on his quest to vanquish the dragon Grigori and save his world from destruction.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will see the protagonist cross paths with the beastren, which are a beast-like race appearing in the game for the first time.

Sony’s PlayStation Showcase was a massive success. Among other things, we saw the company announce its intention to invest massively in new franchises while also building its existing ones. The showcase also saw the company confirm that there is a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, on the way.

At the moment, we do not have any information on the game’s release date. When this changes, you can be sure we will be one of the first to report it.
