Perks are essentially buffs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (and Warzone) that give you added advantages in the battlefield. In this guide we've listed all the perks along with their function (both Modern Warfare multiplayer and Warzone specific) and the level required in order to unlock them. Note that you can only access your Perks in Warzone by collecting your custom loadout through the Loadout Crate Drop.
Perk Slots
There are three slots of Perks, each focusing on a particular aspect of your gameplay. The first Perk slot focuses on the speed. This slot is colored blue. You can receive perks such as doubling the speed of your sprint, being resupplied from the dead enemies or increasing the rate of your health regeneration by killing enemies.
The second slot, which is indicated by a red color, focuses on helping you get more kills, a higher score and ultimately more killstreaks. You can choose Perks which will enable you to carry two primary weapons, decrease the cost of Killstreaks by one kill, will turn your killstreaks into scorestreaks and even Perks that recharge your equipment, such as the knife.
Finally, the third slot, which is indicated by a yellow color, focuses solely on the technology in the game. The Perks include enabling you to carry an extra piece of lethal equipment when you could normally carry only one, the ability to reduce the effects of enemy flash, stun and EMP and of course ability to see the enemy equipment through walls, rendering them useless.

Specialists Perk
Specialist Perks allow you to have three additional Perks within a match. You get these extra Perks based on the number of kills you've made. The three additional Perks require 2, 4 and 6 kills respectively to be unlocked within a match. Note that once you die, these Perks are gone and you will need to get those kills again.
You can also get the Hardline Perk in your second slot in order to reduce the number of kills for these additional perks by 1. With the Hardline Perk, you will need 1, 3 and 5 kills.
You cannot use Specialist Perks in Warzone. They are only applicable in the multiplayer version of Modern Warfare.
Best Perks To Use In Warzone
If you're looking for a good combination of Perks to use in Warzone then we recommend the following.
Cold-Blooded
In the first slot we recommend you use the Cold-Blooded Perk. The reason for this is simple, you need to avoid detection. Locating your enemy first gives you a huge advantage in Warzone and you need to ensure that they don't detect you first.
The Cold-Blooded Perk makes you undetetctable by the AI targeting system and thermal optics. The most important thing here is to avoid detection through thermal optics. You'd be surprised how many players are using thermal optics, not just on their ARs, but also on their deadly Sniper Rifles. Thermal optics on Sniper Rifles make them extremely powerful. So make sure you are using Cold-Blooded Perk to avoid detection.
Ghost or Overkill
Considering the detection issue once again, you need to make sure you are using the Ghost Perk. It renders you undetectable by enemy UAVs, Radar Drones and most importantly Heartbeat Sensors. Heartbeat Sensors are very powerful in Warzone. They show your location and help your opponent prepare accordingly.
They can have a general idea of your location through the Heartbeat Sensor and figure out how to take you down. Your opponent could then overcome you in Close Quarter Combat (CQC), especially in buildings. This is an essential Perk to use if you are playing Warzone.
Now, if you are going for a Sniper Class then we recommend you choose the Overkill Perk. It is an absolutly essential Perk to use when you are using a Sniper Rifle. This is because there are going to be times when you will be forced into CQCs and you won't be able to use your Sniper Rifle at such a close distance. Therefore, if you choose Overkill Perk then you can choose a second primary weapon. Most preferably MP5 or MP7. They go really well with these Sniper Classes.
Tracker or Amped
For the third slot, you can go with the Tracker Perk. This Perk combined with a Heartbeat Sensor will lead you directly to your enemy in CQCs. This is extremely useful in areas where you have a lot of rooms or corners. The Perk shows the footsteps of the enemy player briefly, leading you directly to their location.
As stated earlier, if you go for a Sniper class then the Amped Perk is also highly beneficial. Since at some point in the game you will come across enemies at a closer range. You will need to quickly swap to your SMG or an AR and the Amped Perk will allow you to do just that.
That is all you need to know about the Perks in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Use them well and wisely!
