It has been a while since we've heard from Activision about Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. The game may have encountered development issues as the game has reportedly been pushed back. Activision released the first trailer for Warzone Mobile last September and the studio has been radio silent since. Fans have been expecting the game to release this month and it looks like we may have to wait a while to return to the iconic Verdansk map from the original Warzone.

According to a report by CharlieIntel, "Warzone Mobile’s release date on the App Store has changed from Expected May 15, 2023, to now Expected Nov 1, 2023. Activision still hasn’t announced a worldwide release date."

Warzone Mobile recently concluded its first Closed Alpha Test for the game. The studio will be opening the game to more regions once the game goes into the Beta period. The Alpha test was intended to "improve tuning, stress test matches, identify and fix bugs, as well as collect feedback and insights on all aspects of the game as new features come online."
The Alpha tests may have something to do with the delay of the game. A delay this significant will surely frustrate players who have been waiting for the game to release.
Activision has released a statement to GameSpot regarding the delay. According to the studio, the date the App Store is just a placeholder or estimated launch date.
"Until confirmed, most online stores simply list placeholder or estimated launch dates," Activision said to GameSpot. "We couldn’t be more excited about bringing Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to gamers around the world and while we are still in our Limited Release phase, development is on track and we expect to release globally later this year."
While the statement doesn’t give players a concrete release date, it at least confirms that the game is still scheduled for release this year.
Fortunately, Call of Duty players can still enjoy playing Call of Duty Mobile. Activision said that it will continue to support the mobile title "for the long haul." The studio does not intend to phase out the mobile title in favor of Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.
Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is coming out later this year on iOS and Android. Players interested in the game can still pre-register on App Store or Google Play Store.
