At one point, it seemed certain Bobby Lashley would have a seismic rivalry-ending clash against Brock Lesnar at the Show of Shows in April. Instead, we're wondering why Lashley hasn't gotten some form of build-up ahead of WrestleMania 39. Even so, the All-Mighty went on Twitter to confirm his presence at the SoFi Stadium a few weeks from now.
According to the former WWE United States champion, he's "fresh and ready for a fight." The only question now is, against who?
As we've already mentioned, Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39 seemed like a sure thing. Then, Elimination Chamber happened and the WWE appeared to have all but forgotten about them.
Instead, we got Brock Lesnar vs. Omos at The Grandest Stage of them All with Lashley feuding against Bray Wyatt, which is in danger of being canceled due to an undisclosed Wyatt injury.
If Wyatt and Lesnar are off the table, who will be Lashley's opponent next weekend in Los Angeles?
Some say that it's LA Knight. WrestleVotes speculates that the WWE has tapped LA Knight to fight Lashley at WrestleMania 39. It might not be ideal but, as far as last-minute substitutions go, Knight isn't the worst idea.
We're just curious how the WWE will handle this. Are Triple H and the creative team going to lean into the Wyatt angle? It's worth noting that before leading up to a potential bout against Lashley at WrestleMania 39, Wyatt fought LA Knight. As a matter of fact, Wyatt's only in-ring match since his WWE return has been against LA Knight.
If nothing else, the WWE can use WrestleMania 39 to see how popular LA Knight is with fans and viewers alike.
With only a week away from the start of The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment, anything can happen. We hope the WWE doesn't drop the ball on one of its biggest draws (both literally and figuratively) in recent memory.
