Last year, Konami revived Silent Hill after several years of inactivity. The multinational company enlisted the help of several video game studios to bring the new installments to life, including Bloober Team.

In October, Piotr Babieno, CEO and co-founder of the Polish video game developer, revealed that the remake of Silent Hill 2 was approaching the late development stage. As a result, fans can expect the game to hit the market ahead of its schedule.  Now, several months after his October comments, Babieno has come out to reveal that his team is close to completing the project.

Babieno made this revelation during an interview with PAP Business in his native Polish language. He stated, "Silent Hill 2 is technically ready. It does not mean that the game is finished, but we are close. However, the issue of the release schedule lies with our partners, what the promotion will look like and when the title will debut is not directly in our hands."

Apart from Silent Hill 2, Konami is also working on Silent Hill F, Silent Hill Ascension, and Silent Hill Townfall. However, the video game company has at least three other unannounced projects set in the same universe in the works, according to a leaker. Konami also commissioned a movie remake titled Return to Silent Hill.

By the way, Bloober Team might work on more Silent Hill remakes if this first project goes well. This goes in line with what Konami said about being open to more Silent Hill projects.

While fans remain uncertain about Silent Hill 2’s release date, more information about the game should come to light in the coming weeks, especially since the rumored PlayStation Showcase and E3 2023 are coming up soon.
