Among the many challenges in Black Ops Cold War are 'Dark Ops' challenges, which are meant to be unknown to players until they have completed them. Dark Ops challenges are a set of tasks that players must complete to earn the associated rewards.
The idea of them being "dark ops" is that you don't know what the specific challenges are until you have inadvertently carried them out while playing through the game organically. Dark Ops was last seen in Black Ops 3 and they now make their return in Black Ops Cold War. Dark Ops challenges are available for campaign, multiplayer, and zombies modes.
Although the Dark Ops challenges are meant to be unknown events that you unknowingly complete, the full list of all challenges has been leaked. Relentless Killer
- Requirement: Earn 10 Relentless medals (20 kills without dying)

Brutal Killer
- Requirement: Earn a Brutal medal (25 kills without dying)

Nuclear Killer
- Requirement: Earn 10 Relentless medals (30 kills without dying)

Frenzy Killer
- Requirement: Earn a Frenzy Kill medal (5 rapid kills)
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
Mega Killer
- Requirement: Get a Mega Kill medal (6 rapid kills)
- Reward: 10,000 XP and Calling Card
Ultra Killer
- Requirement: Get a Ultra Kill medal (7 rapid kills)
- Reward: 10,000 XP and Calling Card
Chain Killer
- Requirement: Get a Kill Chain medal (Killed more than 7 players rapidly)
- Reward: 10,000 XP and Calling Card
From the Depths
- Requirement: Get 25 kills against enemies that are on land or a ship's surface when you are shooting at them from underwater with a primary or secondary weapon.
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
Hard Wipe
- Requirement: Single handedly eliminate an entire squad of 4 players in a Fireteam mode.
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
Back At You
- Requirement: Throw a Frag Grenade back and kill the enemy that threw the grenade at you.
- Reward: 1,000 XP and Calling Card
Nuked Out
- Requirement: Earned a Nuclear medal in Free-For-All without using Scorestreak rewards.
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
Very Nuclear
- Requirement: Earn a Nuclear medal with 21 different weapons with all kills coming from that weapon.
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
Underwater Ops
- Requirement: While underwater, plant C4 on an enemy-occupied Gunboat or Wakerunner and detonate to destroy the vehicle and kill the occupants 5 times.

Dark Ops Master
- Requirement: Complete all Dark Ops challenges
- Reward: 10,000 XP and Calling Card

Reaper of the Undead
- Requirement: Kill 1,000,000 enemies.
- Reward: 10,000 XP and Calling Card
Armed to the Teeth
- Requirement: Have 2 fully packed weapons with ammo mods equipped and 6 perks active.
- Reward: 1,000 XP and Calling Card
Social Distancing
- Requirement: Reach Round 20 without being hit.
- Reward: 5,000 XP and Calling Card
The Anvil
- Requirement: Exfil a game with only using melee attacks.

- Requirement: Kill 50 enemies with a single support.

- Requirement: Complete the Main Quest in Die Maschine.

- Requirement: Buy every weapon from the Mystery Box in a single game.

- Requirement: In Dead Ops Arcade, earn a cumulative high score of 999,999,999.

Pristine Pelt
- Requirement: In Dead Ops Arcade, defeat Mamaback in the final round without ever dying.
