Game Science just dropped a new trailer for Black Myth: Wukong in celebration of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit. The trailer is a two-minute animated short showing a rabbit gamer trying to install the game on an outdated PC. It doesn’t turn out well and the gamer is forced to shell out on newer hardware to successfully install the game.

Upon opening the game, the rabbit finds out that there is a countdown timer to the release date of Black Myth: Wukong. A year later, the rabbit finally gets to see the game being played by two younger gamers. The calendar in the background shows the year 2024, indicating the year that Black Myth: Wukong will be released.

Game Science did not give a specific release date other than the summer of 2024. We may get more information as the release window nears.

Players will take control of Wukong from the Chinese novel Journey to the West.

Black Myth: Wukong is an upcoming action-adventure game with Souls-like gameplay. Players will take control of a monkey based on Sun Wukong, or Monkey King, from the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The protagonist is referred to in-game as "the Destined One".

Based on the trailers, we see the protagonist taking on a variety of boss monsters. His primary weapon in the game is a staff that can change its length giving the character access to a new move set. The player can access magical abilities like summoning clones to distract the enemy.

Like most Souls-like titles, the game places heavy emphasis on dodging and anticipating attack patterns. Using potions for healing is another core part of the game.
