Bandai Namco has just released a new gameplay trailer for the forthcoming fighting game, Tekken 8.

The gameplay trailer features one of the game franchise’s veteran characters, Kazuya Mishima, and shows him having a go at his son, Jin Kazama, in the middle of a barricaded street. It also shows him changing into his fearsome Devil form, letting loose of his laser ranged attack, and declaring that he controls everything.
Jin Kazama, for his part, can barely do enough to keep up with the flurry of attacks from his father who gives him no quarter and refers to him as pitiful.
The popular Japanese video game developer officially unveiled Tekken 8 at the September PlayStation State of Play event with a trailer showing the father and son having a high-powered brawl amidst a heavy storm. Unlike the recently released trailer, the original trailer was more of an even fight, although Kazuya did gain the upper hand in the end.
The forthcoming Tekken 8 will feature improved graphics and is being developed in Unreal Engine. Also, the game will see the return of Jun Kazama, Jin Kazama’s mum, who was last seen in Tekken 2 and had since been presumed dead.
By the way, the studio released a gameplay trailer earlier this month that revealed another franchise regular Nina Williams, and depicted her fighting prowess for the upcoming title. Also, Bandai Namco has plans to hold a closed alpha test for the title across multiple locations globally over the coming months. The studio intends to use the test to collate fans’ feedback about the game’s battle systems.
Bandai Namco hasn’t announced a release date for the fighting game beyond hinting that it will probably arrive within the 2023 financial year. However, the studio is developing the title for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC platforms.
