Authorities have reportedly arrested the minor suspected to be behind the GTA 6 leak

Reports suggest that the FBI are involved with the arrest of the 17-year-old hacker behind the GTA 6 leaks, among others, in the United Kingdom.

Contrary to what playing Grand Theft Auto may have led you to believe, crime doesn't pay.

The 17-year-old probably won't face any significant jail time but we suspect that this incident will have a negative impact on their future.

For example, UK police have arrested a 17-year-old in Oxfordshire. Ex-Reuters journalist, Matt Keys, reveals that the arrest is linked to the still-ongoing FBI investigation following a massive hacking of Rockstar Games and the leak of sensitive in-development footage of the next Grand Theft Auto. It's also believed that the individual is the one behind the Uber hack.

The concerned individual is believed to be behind several hacks that have occurred within the past few weeks.

According to Keys, the City of London Police arrested the minor as part of their collaboration with the FBI. Keys explains that the police will release more info within the day, with a potential statement from the FBI.

As per earlier reports, Keys' sources are also claiming that the suspect in custody has links to Lapsus$. The hacking group has a strong history with teen hackers. In March, Lapsus$ came up after a 16-year-old found himself under arrest under the suspicion that they were the leader of the aforementioned malicious group. It's still not clear if the earlier arrests and this one are connected.

Ultimately, we won't jump the gun. We'll wait for official confirmation from the authorities. In the meantime, you may want to keep yourself busy checking out the pseudo map for GTA 6 using all of the footage from the leak.
