If it feels like there's a new Marvel game announced almost every month, it's because it's true. Mostly due to the overwhelming success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nearly every studio wants a piece of the Marvel pie. Now, it's Amy Hennig, the former creative director of the Uncharted series, who's going to helm a new Marvel game.
When is Hennig’s new Marvel game going to release?
When it comes to video games, very few have the same resume as Amy Hennig. While she was with Naughty Dogs, Hennig worked primarily on the Jak and Daxter franchise, as well as the Uncharted series. Previously, she served as the director, producer, and writer of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver while at Crystal Dynamics. She also wrote and directed Soul Reaver 2, as well as Legacy of Kain: Defiance.
Hennig is currently the president of a division of Skydance Media, Skydance New Media. She's also credited as the writer for Square Enix's upcoming RPG title, Forspoken.

As explained by Hennig in her statement, the upcoming "narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game" is the studio's first game. However, given Hennig's experience, she is also the ideal candidate for someone to lead a project based on a "completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe."
Unfortunately, we don't know much about the upcoming Marvel game from Hennig. Most likely, the game is still years away from releasing and in its very early stages of development.
What’s next for Marvel?
We've seen a huge surge in the demand for Marvel-based video games in recent years and the market has responded in kind. Marvel's Spider-Man by Insomniac Games is easily one of the best superhero games to release of all time. Perhaps it's only fitting that Insomniac is going to release a sequel, Marvel's Spider-Man 2. In addition to this, Insomniac is also working on another Marvel game, this time featuring Wolverine.
In addition to Insomniac Games, Marvel is working with several other game studios on titles based on Marvel's properties. The recently-released Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy by Eidos-Montreal has had a lot of success with critics and audiences alike. Lastly, Firaxis Games is also working on a Marvel game based on Midnight Suns, which is set to come out in 2022.
