Hey there, just thought I would let you guys know I'd appreciate it if you'd fix a bug in the silent installer part of your NSIS installer wrapper for Xfire. When Xfire is installed using the "/S" parameter, it seems to install okay, but it doesn't add the following shortcuts like in a typical installation: %USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Xfire.lnk %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Xfire\Xfire.lnk %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop\Xfire.lnk Aside from not having the available shortcuts in the Start-->Programs folder, by not adding itself to the "Startup" folder the mechanism that Xfire uses to start itself on Windows boot is disabled and one has to manually start it. There is a large community of unattended install people who would like to see this fixed. I made a custom fix months ago for Xfire 1.45 using a batch file and standalone shortcut-making .exe, but it would be much better if this could just be a one-step process. Thanks! |

Thanks for the suggestion! We really want to support the silent install users out there. I just checked in some code and so silent installs will create those three shortcuts in versions 1.50 and later. Please let us know if there are any problems. Chris |
