Finally, the patch has been released! There is so much that will improve Halo PC, and Halo CE. If the patch doesn't download automatically for you, you can get it here. http://www.bungie.net/images/games/halopc/patch/patch_109.exe If some of you have had the test 1.09 patch, it's the same, except the installer-wrapper has been added. This is also the first time we've added a "Bungie, LLC" digital signature to anything (instead of going through the Microsoft internal tool for doing that) so let me know if you see anything wrong there. Remember to re-apply the instructions in the Anisotropic Filtering thread if you did before the patch, as this config.txt will overwrite your changes. If you don't know what I mean, you don't have to worry about it. This patch will also get rid of those pesky aimbots, and hackers. It should get rid of most, if not all Aimbots, Clickbots, Wallhacks, Bluewalls, etc. I've been waiting months for this patch to come out, and it's finally here. There will be a poll for voting on what you Halo players think about the patch. Have a great day! _______________ |

I will not download it, and you all shouldn't either. It is new, released today officially (after a small beta use), and already many people are getting exception errors and having to re-install Halo with the old 1.08 patch. I will definetely not download it until it is an auto-update. PS - I picked the last poll choice, but I wish you would've added a 4th: "I am going to skip it for now and wait until all the bugs are worked out." _______________ |

I'll have to run Halo now and see, but according to what I've read from the creator of the patch, it is not an auto-update yet. And if it was, why would you give a link to the patch on here?? The quote: "The final patches for PC and CE 1.09 are ready and available for download. This is the same build you've had for a few weeks if you've been following the thread, only the installer-wrapper is added. If people report success installing these patches, they will go up for auto-update soon, which should help unify the playerbase on the new version." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *EDIT* - You're right, it is an auto-update already. Just went in Halo, and it made me download it. No worry, beef curry! PS - And you're right about it eliminating botters for awhile. Just tried my sightjacker, and it no longer works ("this version of Halo not supported" _______________ |

Not only that, but HAC (Halo Anti-Cheat) doesn't work either. That means we can't HPT for a while, at least until the HAC creators update their version to 1.09. _______________ |

Mine works fine. Maybe it's 'cause I've never run any addons at all. My skins are all gone though. :S _______________ |

Stupid update. There would be hacks developed for it in like 2 days. Couldn't they do something important like improve netcode or clean up some crap?

My skins are all gone though. :S Yeah, it deletes those, and replaces the config.txt. If you've got no scope blur. _______________ |

I though this was interesting: By the way (this is to everyone) - why are aimbots a problem when there are banlists? Before we shipped, we expected that the community would share results and collectively build a big banlist of undesirable players. (It's just a text file of hashed CD keys. A banned player has to buy a new game to play again) Now that would be a good stikey here, players which where banned for belief of botting. _______________ |

Bungie (and you) are over-estimating the Halo community's average intelligence. The Halo community can ban these CD Keys, but people can just get CD Keys online, or maybe buy the game again. This patch is starting to get on my nerves, now. _______________ |
