Dear Xfire Community,

We want to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and address many of the questions we heard from you.

As some background information, Titan Gaming was started in 2006 and was the brainchild of Francisco Diaz Mitoma and Mark Donovan. Francisco and Mark were (and still are) hardcore Counterstrike players who thought it would be great to build a company around managing Counterstrike teams; thus, Titan Gaming was born. Mark and Francisco spent the next three years building the ultimate tournament system for Counterstrike and other hardcore games. We added capabilities, such as virtual currency wagering and entry fee tournaments, and John Maffei and several others (including EA, THQ, Fox, and IGT executives) joined the team in late 2009 and 2010. We have since focused on providing our services to both casual and hardcore gaming companies that want to host video game tournaments.

Titan Gaming’s founders and employees are gamers at heart, and have used Xfire for years. We were ecstatic when the opportunity arose to acquire Xfire. We are privileged to work on this technology and be associated with such an iconic, influential brand.

We want to address some of the concerns we heard regarding Xfire:
  • The Xfire service, as you know it, remains free.
  • We are not going to turn Xfire into an advertising spamming channel. As always the case with Xfire, we strive to form the perfect balance of having some ads but not at the expense of a great user experience.
  • We intend to operate the service at the high level at which you are accustomed. We intend to keep the core experience you all love and will continue to innovate upon that. We are not ready to announce a roadmap but we are obviously interested in bringing Xfire to more platforms.
  • We have retained key members of the Xfire team and intend to grow it over time.
We ask that you please be patient with us in this transition period. We are honored to continue providing you the Xfire service, and look forward to your feedback. Moving forward, Mark Donovan will take an active role working with you on a daily basis to understand how we evolve the product.

Sincerely,

John, Mark and the entire Titan Gaming team
