Patch is out
Finally the patch is out. The changes are based on community feedback and we wanted to get them out now rather than wait for the next content release.
We've lessen the effect of how coyotes affects other animals and done a couple of changes that might have led to frustration when using the calls (like an attracted animal suddenly going to sleep or that coyotes could under some circumstances leave another animal in a "frozen" state (that was a bug)).
One of the important additions was the introduction of having the Huntermate (which is the game's implementation of your senses, basically) tell you the gender of tracks when you have reached a tracking level of 5 or greater. This allow more experienced hunters to focus their tracking effort on bucks, if that's what they're after.

Shotgun Screenshots
It is time to show off the upcoming side-by-side shotgun. It is a classic beauty, craftsmanship at it's best.
Despite holiday, some of us spent quite some time hanging around on the forum, others posted stealthy ninja updates (I noticed
) - Peter decided to revisit the old shotgun, improving the model and textures - on his vacation!
I know someone will point it out so I'll address it immediately. The orange jacket is not available in the game, they are just the default clothing in our development build of the game.
On a second thought, maybe we should ask Doc to stock it in the store?

Half the team back from vacation (we're full house on Monday) and time for a status update.
Since we're just a few days in from vacation we got no earth-shattering stuff to show off. Maybe not earth-shattering, but I think you got some in that stealthy ninja update that appeared during the vacation... (where did that came from?)
Upcoming Content
The pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall in place regarding what content we are working on. To sum it up...
The pheasant, introducing a new type of bird hunting gameplay with flushing. To that we're adding a side-by-side shotgun and a clay-pigeon shooting range for some practice on quickly moving targets in the air.
Development is still in early stages and we're researching everything from flushing behavior to get that typical steep ascent you see when flushing a pheasant just right, to...
