Metal Assault Shutting Down!
Dear Metal Assault Players,
We regret to inform you that on March 31st, Aeria Games will shut down Metal Assault and remove it from our portal. We know that this news may be upsetting, but, continuing servicing Metal Assault is not in the best interest of all parties. Personally, I am sad that we have to shut down the game because in my short time with the Metal Assault community, I had a blast. Metal Assault is a very enjoyable game, and some of my fondest memories come from playing matches with and against the Metal Assault community.
We appreciate all the support and we hope that you can understand.
AP Spender Compensation:
We have decided to return 100% of the AP spent on Metal Assault to players within the last 2 months prior to shut down. More details about this will be sent by emails to AP spenders in the coming weeks.

Steam Daily Wishlist is Back!
As we await Valve’s annual year-end Christmas sale on Steam, the company is kicking off its festivities a bit early, announcing a new initiative in which Steam users can score free games. It’s called the The Daily Wishlist Giveaway. To enter, just visit the featured daily deal page on Steam each day. You must also have at least 10 games on your wishlist.
A total of 10 Steam users will win the top 10 items from their wishlist, each and every day. It’s not clear how long how the promotion will run exactly, but Valve says it’ll “continue into the holiday season.” Minecraft-inspired Terraria marks the first featured deal.

Valve:Steam Hacked User Database Compromised
Following an intrusion on the Steam forums last weekend, Valve has since discovered that the breach runs deeper. Attackers gained access to a Steam database separate from the forums, which houses “user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information.”
At this time, an investigation is still ongoing. Valve “does not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked.”
Moreover, there have been no reported cases of compromised Steam accounts and as such, Valve is not forcing users to change their passwords at this time.
“We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely,” reads the email.

Evolve (xFire Killer)
So far xFire has been pissing me off with support, mainly it took them over a week to add Deus Ex Human Revolution and then I came across Evolve. It's sleek and better than xFire with support but doesn't have all the features yet. I think these guys will get it right as it doesn't feel bloated as Raptr. LoL: The Dominion Limited Beta Begins Today!

Last week we announced that Dominion would be available for limited periods of time leading up to its official release as part of a limited beta test. Well, we’re pleased to announce that the limited beta is under way!
Over the coming days, we’ll be opening testing windows on our platforms during off-peak hours, each of which will be prefaced by a forum announcement to let you know you can and participate. And if you miss one of the testing windows, remember that there will be plenty more opportunities to help test Dominion as we speed toward launch!

BF3 Specs. Open Beta Starts 9/29
At long last, developer DICE has revealed the official system requirements for Battlefield 3 on PC. Not surprisingly, maxing it out in its full glory will require a beefy rig. Recommended is a quad core processor and a GTX560 or HD6950 graphics card.
It seems Battlefield 3 will scale well to lesser setups, however. The minimum specs are much more forgiving, asking for a dual core and at least a GeForce 8800GT series card on the low end.
For a breakdown of the system specifications, hit the break. The open beta will officially launch September 29 across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. However, those that pre-order on Origin before September 25 or register the tier 1 edition of Medal of Honor get a jump-start on beta access, 48 hours ahead of everyone else.

Death Toll Beta Comes To Earth
We are releasing the beta version of Death Toll today. We have made a few changes based on issues we saw during internal testing. It will be interesting to see what people think of those changes. No hints on what the changes are, we want you to play with fresh eyes.

The most popular question these days is when will the complete Cold Stream DLC be released? We have been saying end of summer, but that looks to be slipping quickly by. At the current rate of testing, feedback, and updating we are looking at around Halloween.
The second most popular question, when is the next update to the Cold Stream Campaign? Soon. We have been working on some performance issues. Before we officially release a campaign it needs to hit some performance benchmarks and be able to keep a minimum number of frames per second throughout the campaign. We are close.
We also have a change to the finale that we want to get some more testing on. The change will...

Deus Ex: New Vision Mod
With the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution only weeks away, if you’re keen on playing the original to brush up on your Deus Ex lore but find it too dated in the visual department, good news awaits.
Enter Deus Ex: New Vision, a fan-created mod that aims to give the 2000′s PC release a facelift. Four years in the making, around 75 percent of the entire sci-fi epic has been retextured. That translates to a crisper, cleaner image at the high-resolutions of today. The art remains faithful to the original as well.
Did we mention it’s already available to download? While the mod is still an ongoing effort, the first full release is available now over at ModDB.

Unlock Left 4 Dead’s Next Map Early By...
The importation of original Left 4 Dead maps into Left 4 Dead 2 rolls on, with the latest update to "Dead Air" delivering a new version of the Terminal map. Valve says the update brings matters "pretty close to being complete" but "at this stage what we really need is more testing." It's found a way to get you to do that.
Play a complete game of Versus in "Dead Air" and you will get an achievement, Valve says. When 60,000 people earn that achievement, the beta version of "Blood Harvest," the next map to be released, will be unlocked the following weekday.
"60,000 is going to be hard," L4D2's team writes on the official blog. "You can't rage quit and you need to work together."
Valve asks that gamers who get the achievement help others reach it as well, and post feedback and bugs to the Steam Forums and on the game's Facebook page. Progress toward 60,000 will be announced via Twitter.
