The game also uses the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the same engine that powered Battlefield 3. EA will have more to show at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month.

Hello everyone.

We are going to deploy a new gameserver for PC during the day. This will not cause any downtime for you either on Battlelog, Origin or any other systems.

The RSP´s will gradually roll out the new gameserver update so you will still be able to play on your favorite servers. There are no gameplay fixes in this update and this doesn´t require any update to your client.

Battlefield 4 & Bad Company 3 will require 64-bit OS

If you have been playing BF3 on PC, you’ll know that the Frostbite 2 engine makes a considerable difference in terms of graphics quality, compared to the same game on console using the Frostbite 2 engine. DICE has confirmed that they plan to make enhancements to their new engine and these improvements in the future will require the need for PC players to be running a 64-bit operating system.

Certain online retailers have been pricing the new Battlefield 3 Close Quarters DLC for around $30.00 but this apparntly is wrong and over priced.

The actual price for the Close Quarters dlc will be around $14.99.

Battlefield Premium Introduced June 4th
Battlefield Premium Introduced June 4th And Close Quarters Set For June 12th

Despite the reassurance that Battlefield 3′s Battlelog would remain a free service, it looks like DICE and EA will be introducing a paid service called Battlefield Premium, probably in response to Call of Duty Elite, sometime in the near future. Battlefield Premium is rumored to be introduced at EA’s E3 Press Conference on June 4.

DICE is not shutting down servers
Electronic Arts denies shutting down official servers for modern-day shooter, says it will add more DICE-sanctioned servers.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced claiming that official DICE servers for the console versions of Electronic Arts' Battlefield 3 were disappearing, leaving only privately rented destinations to play on. This is not the case.

DICE is not shutting down servers," an EA representative said this afternoon.

DICE Console servers Have Vanished?
Console gamers are reporting that the official DICE servers for Battlefield 3 multiplayer have been completely withdrawn, with the game now largely playable only on private rented servers.

Publisher Electronic Arts and developer DICE recently made the bold move of introducing a server-rental scheme to console versions of Battlefield 3. At $30 for 30 days, these servers don’t come cheap, but this hasn’t stopped the Battlefield community from signing up in droves.
