The PGL Video Game Tournament of Champions is a system of game grids with ten levels and ten Tiers. This system is powered groups of Challengers and Defenders. The challengers activate the game with money. The cost to activate a challenge starts at $0.50 and increases depending on the rank of the Defender that is being challenged. The Challenger sees the range of cost options before the challenge is made and the amount of payment to the Defender is a dynamically calculated amount that they will see before accepting the match. The Defender is paid for Defending whether they win or lose the match. Players are placed on the game grids according to achievement points won or lost during the play of each match. Each game has its own grid. PGL™ uses a formula to calculate the play of every player in every game the players are then given a rank on the master grid according to the PGL™ formula.
