501st PIR, Realism unit of Day of Defeat: Source. We are a group of online reenactors that endeavor to keep the memory of America's World War II Paratroop veteran's alive. Through tactical gameplay, events, and realistic structure, we attempt to educate the public in the historical significance of not only the 101st Airborne but all those who served duringe the Second World War. December Update!
To all who are just visiting the site of the E/501st PIR for the first time, I would just like to say welcome, and please take the time to read this over and make sure to visit the forums to learn more. To everyone else, including 501st members and friends, welcome back and enjoy the newsletter.
It has been well over a month since the creation of the 501st PIR. The unit has been developing rapidly and a lot has happened since the last newsletter on that frightful and eventful Halloween night. From promotions to new recruits, it is plain for all to see that the 501st has taken off with a bang.
First off, I believe it is necessary to mention that we’ve gained a lot of new recruits since the last newsletter. So far there have been two basic training classes to form.
Class 01, which graduated from basic training on November 28th, consisted of Mack Sawyer, Kevin Khan, and William Nickel. These three graduates emerged from their training successfully earning their jump wings. In addition they were awarded...

Halloween this year brought along more then the normal jack o' lanterns and candy. The 31st of October marked the activation of E/501st, the newest Parachute Infantry Regiment within the fields of Day of Defeat Source. With the constant work of all men currently enlisted things are on a role the server is up and populated, the site is being pieced together and recruits are trooping into the Enlistment Office.
Cpt. Tanner is a veteran of the realism community and the Officer in charge of First Platoon, Lt. Lahey, is also a realism vet. With their capable leadership at the helm, the 501st is showing early promise to become one of the shining beacons of realism.
