MPD’s server was set up as LAN only at Sierra Games headquarters, in California. Players worked for Sierra in the Media Production Department - hence the acronym MPD. When Zoot transferred to Radical in Vancouver, Canada, he set it up as an internet server, added ‘Norte’ to reflect that it had moved north - though he is not Latino, he likes to say Norte instead of 'north' - go figure. The server setup, games, type, maps, settings, rules and attitude soon caught on with other FEAR players and before long the server had an international following of good regulars.
Soon players were asking to join MPD, but Zoot was lagging so one of the early regulars and a good friend to the server, Circumsized_Yak, surprised Zoot by getting the clan underway, and recruiting some of the early members. So the MPD name will stick, though the initials don’t have a ‘frightening’ meaning, members can be proud their clan’s formation is result of its founding members working on the original F.E.A.R. game.

NEW CLAN ORGANIZTION INFO!
Zoot wanted the group to be as much of a community as a Clan, and now plans to have both. [MPD]BruceLee has volunteered to help organize [MPD] into two groups. Warriors and general guild members. Both groups must follow the original server guidelines of playing fair, treating both their team mates and other players with respect – we aren’t talking goody two shoes here, this is a killing game after all – but no need to be abusive, sexist, racist etc. But it is a game, and both members and server regulars should keep that in mind – kill each other, but have fun doing it. The warrior group will be the first picks for scrims and skirmishes with other clans, and those accepted as general members are free to train with and work their way to up competition level. BTW, Zoot is at best an average player on a good day and is happy to join in with the rest of general members, at least until his skill level improves, and he is no longer at the mercy those guys who kill him all the time (and you know who you...
