EA Sues Defence Firm Over Battlefield 3 Choppers
Electronic Arts has pre-emptively sued the US defence manufacturer Textron for the right to depict its rotary-wing aircraft in video games such as Battlefield 3.
The dispute centres on Textron's AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom choppers (modern upgrades of Vietnam War-era designs), and the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor troop transport. Negotiations over licensing arrangements broke down late last year, and EA asserts that on December 21 Textron demanded that EA remove the disputed whirlybirds from Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 3 DLC consistency and expectation
With the thought that EA could unleash three times the amount of downloadable content for BF3, we thought we would gauge how gamers would feel about increasing Battlefield 3 DLC consistency, and also look at some expectations on these as well. For the most part fans of the game love the idea, but that’s not saying that they are happy with the fact that the publisher is not doing all they can to make even more money from the franchise.
Activision has always offered a great number of DLC for their games, so do you think that it makes sense for EA to do the same? Some gamers have said that if you don’t like the idea of spending more money on new content then you are not forced to buy the game, but then again they can buy the game, just not bother with new downloadable content.
