So here it is. X-fire Forums! Let me start by selling this concept. To some of you I'm preaching to the choir. But to others X-fire is evil and must be shunned! Welcome to the 22 century of gaming interface. In using x-fire I have been able to accomplish what every clan focuses on. Friendship! 1. I can see who is playing, where, what game, server activity and ping. with a simple click I'm on my way to interacting with my friends. 2. I can organize my friends with the x-fire community options. We can gather as a community and use the x-fire interface to gather all community pertinent items in one sack (much like our clan69 web site). 3. I can do this...... What? .......this?.......utilize the forums. anything that isn't covered when we talk during game play can be batted around here, in the clan forums. 4. I can activate and use x-fire pro voice at any time. I can create numerous channels. Who can do this? Anyone! at any time! quality is adequate and its super convenient. 5. I can belong to numerous communities at once. While belonging to multiple clans isn't normally advised. there maybe an instance where multiple communities are desired. You wouldn't blame a guy for being a member of the local Elks lodge and a member of the local Kwantis or Rotary clubs. I've always had an urge to start an order. Not a clan! An order. to invite and recognize players of VERY VERY HIGH chivalrous ideals. Players could join that community and use it to discus those ideals with like minded players. I would still be a clan member of the 69th but the Order would be a personal growth kind of thingy! And this could all be done in one place. 6. I can at and instance find a friend who is playing elsewhere. Tell him hey man we got a cool thing going over here. C'mon over. He can then decide to join me or not. Even if he's eyebrows deep in Orcs in D&D online and I'm playing MOHAA. 7. I use X-fire and I'm cool. Not like that PC guy. Oh wait I'm typing this on a PC! Guess I'm not all that cool! What are the downsides to x-fire? well it can be intrusive. I get Chats going with a lot of people at once and sometimes it can be frustrating when all I want to do is play. But sometime I just ignore the the chats or I set the privacy settings to give me my privacy. But it usually isn't that big of a deal. What are your thoughts? Love Psypher |
