Iron Storm X (Pittco)
Well I just got back from Pittco, Iron Storm X, and I have to say that I had a really good time despite some setbacks.
There were about 200 people in attendance of the event, and there was lots of room for everyone. The venue was tucked away in some hill town outside of Pittsburgh, and we had no power problems at all. The venue was nothing too special, but it served its purpose well.
The network was pretty unstable when we arrived and got set up. They didn't fix everything until a couple hours into the lan, but after that the network was good for the most part.
For file sharing, they used something called DC++ which reminded me of an FTP type application. It basically looked like an FTP service, that combined the benefits of P2P sharing, Torrenting, and IRC all into one. It worked very well and I honestly think every single LAN should use it.
Outside of the newtork the only other thing that was kind of dissapointing was the organization. They doled out the tourneys to individual staff...
